Martin Batchelar is a London based composer and arranger of music for film, television, theatre and studio recordings.
Martin arranged and conducted orchestrations for The Who‘s twelfth studio album WHO, and has also arranged for Cliff Richard, Alfie Boe, Heather Small and Sheridan Smith. His arrangements for composer Rachel Fuller feature Paul McCartney, Elton John, Emeli Sandé and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
2023 saw the release of Edith Piaf Symphonique, an album of Piaf’s most iconic songs reworked for full symphony orchestra under her original vocal recordings, co-arranged by Martin alongside Nathan Stornetta and Samuel Pegg.
Martin is the composer for global hit comedy podcast My Dad Wrote A Porno, with over 400 million downloads to date, three sell-out world tours, and an HBO comedy special.
He also regularly composes for advertising, including brands such as Coca-Cola, Citroën, Heineken Formula 1 and Disneyland Paris. Recent orchestrations include BBC documentary series Mexico and Wild West, along with computer game soundtracks including Disney Pixar’s Rush.
Martin trained at the Royal College of Music in London.
